August Sermon Themes:

Aug 24, 2008 . Who Are We? . Matthew 16:13-20. After three years with Jesus the disciples still did not really know who Jesus was.  Only Peter understood.  Do we really know who we are?  Does the church truly know its mission and call?  Pastor Don will reflect on how this story of recognition can help us learn who we truly are.

Aug 31, 2008 . How Much? . Matthew 16:21-28. This series from the Gospel of Matthew concludes with Jesus indicating that discipleship can be costly.  Jesus here talks about what is truly important in our life.  Pastor Don will explore the meaning of gaining our spirit and souls in a time that often emphasizes wealth and power.

September Sermon Themes:

Sep 7, 2008 . Reconciiation . Matthew 18:15-20. In Matthew’s gospel we find Jesus sharing a method of dealing with conflict and personal “hurt."  Find out what Jesus suggests that we do in dealing with personal issues between ourselves and others.  Does this have an application to the church?  Pastor Don will explore the implications of Matthew 18 for our time today.

Sep 14, 2008 . We are forgiven . Matthew 18:21-35. Pastor Don will continue the exploration of how we deal with personal hurts and with conflict.  Here Jesus answers the question of how many times should for forgive with the remark, “seventy times seven”.  Forgiveness is not only what we have received from God it is what we share with one another.

Sep 21, 2008 . Keith preaching.

Sep 28, 2008 . Sleeper's Awake . Exodus 12:1-14. Pat Slentz speaking while staff is at Sonlight camp for the Discipleship Retreat.
