Los Alamos Choral Society is pleased to have secured Dr. Mary Lynn Badarak as music director. Mary is
both artistic and engaging, and elicits the best sound from each singer. Working with Mary is a delight.
Her mastery of choral direction and presentation, her program development, and her experience with
concert and tour administration bring new excitement to members in Los Alamos Choral Society.

Dr. Badarak received her doctorate in music theory from Northwestern University, with excellent
credentials in choral composition, publishing and conducting. Dr Badarak has conducted musical groups
from bell choirs to brass ensembles to conducting full symphony orchestra and chorus productions.
Dr. Badarak is active in the local and national music community with an impressive list of guild and
society memberships and numerous publications, performances and awards.
The artistic director of Santa Fe Music Works, Mary has planned and directed
workshops in musical masterworks and has twice prepared choral groups from
northern New Mexico to perform at Carnegie Hall under the direction of
internationally known composer and conductor John Rutter.

Mary is an active composer of contemporary choral
and chamber music; she has produced a concert of
her new music, The Red Earth Project.
