Roger Petrin

Roger Petrin has been a member of the Los Alamos Auxiliary Fire Brigade since April 1995. His primary interests are in general Search and Rescue and Technical Rescue. Besides being active in SAR, he is an avid mountain biker, has been known to cross country ski and snowshoe, and enjoys backpacking and camping. Now that he owns his first four wheel drive vehicle, he also hopes to do some off road "exploring". When not enjoying the great outdoors, Roger works as a laser physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory where he studies applications of laser radar (LIDAR). Coincidentally, his work site happens to be located on a remote mesa with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo, Jemez, and Sandia Mountains - so he gets to enjoy the outdoors even at work!

Roger may be reached at rrp@lanl.gov.
