GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
September 8, 1997
Called to order at 1935 hrs.
I. Attendance

II. Reports
A. Minutes
1. Minutes from Aug. 4 meeting - no amendments were proposed.
2. Minutes from July 7 meeting will be distributed soon.
B. Treasurer’s report:
We received a $105 check ($100 donation + $5 patch) for the High Altitude mini marathon. That brings the balance up to $446.15.
C. Vehicles
1. Rescue 2 could use an oil change. Butch S. volunteered his services.
2. We have a knife-style battery switch for the La France that needs to be installed. This will eliminate the need to unbolt the positive terminal of the battery after each use.
D. Welfare - Vince Hall’s condition was reported to be declining.
E. Mutual Aid - none to report.
F. SAR
8/16 - Black Canyon. Search for 4 year old White Rock boy near Hyde Park. Found at about 2 AM, a mile uphill from point last seen.
G. Community Service
8/22 - Shrine Circus was cancelled due to local animal quarantine.

J. Communications
1. We still need 1 or 2 rechargeable batteries for the Bendix King radios.
2. We should get 2 chest harnesses for carrying the Bendix King radios. We need to contact Teri DuBois about this.
3. LA-CD-SAR will be replacing our current Digital Group pagers with new ones. Evidently a new paging system will be installed in the next couple of months. Three Brigade members will be new subscribers soon.
K. Kitchen Report - none
L. Building - nothing to report.
III. Old Business
A. American Red Cross
Marla Griffith, from the American Red Cross, showed a video about the Red Cross organization. She described the shelter operations of the Red Cross in Los Alamos and Rio Arriba counties. Marla also handed out some flyers, and answered our questions about the Red Cross organization. We are welcome to attend meetings of the Red Cross at the Los Alamos Public Library, held on Wednesday nights.
B. The North Face
Robert Lasso has submitted an application for the Brigade (and its members) to receive discounts on the purchase of North Face products. Charles Hosford is now handling this effort. No response has been received from the North Face corporation.
IV. New Business
A. Pete Riley was voted in as a Brigade Member. Congratulations, Pete!
